UAS Teardown(LAB11)

 My team had a chance to teardown UAS for this two-week lab. It was a lot more complicated than I thought. And some parts of our drone were already missing from the get-go, we were confused at first but we ended up tearing down ours perfectly.


This is the process for teardown.


Tear-Down Instructions:


1: Take Screws out of the center plastic that holds the harness w/ Phillips screwdriver (4 Screws)


2: Take Velcro Senor Harness off


3: Unplug Wires from Wire Hub


  • 1, 2, 3, 4 , RCN

  • Power2, USB, GPS 1

4: Unscrew/Take off Wire Hub


5: Unscrew and Take Off Plate/Assembly that holds the GPS station


6: Unscrew GPS Holder/Tower


7: Remove GPS sensor from GPS holder/tower


8: Cut the zip ties on the SimonK 30A

9: Cut the zip ties on the propeller arms


10: Unscrew and remove the top and bottom screws from the motor mounts


11: Remove Channel Receiver


12: Unscrew and Remove Prop Arms


13: Separate Central Square Plastic Mounts by removing the screws on both sides and the spacers in-between


14. Unscrew the screws in the Central Square Plastic Mounts from the Landing Gear Attachments


15. Disconnect Landing Gear Supports from Landing Gear Attachments


16. Remove screws from the Central Plastic Mount


17. Disconnect the Circuit Board from the Central Plastic Mount


18. Do Solder the cords/wires from Circuit Board
